Communication Types

The Forest Shuttle uses an RS485 interface. This isn’t supported directly by Control4, so it is necessary to utilise a hardware interface. The driver supports two different methods:

• RS232 – RS485 converter
  This will allow any RS232 port on the Control4 system to be used together with an RS232-RS485 converter. We recommend the Advantech Adam 4520 as providing a robust and reliable conversion
• IP – RS485 gateway – We have provided a means of connecting to the FX bus via an IP-to-RS485 gateway. We recommend gateways from Brainboxes – the ES-320 (DC powered) and ES-420 (PoE version)

How to get a Support Log

please enable debug in the driver by configuring the following driver properties:

• Set Debug Mode to Print
• Set Debug Subsystems to * (i.e. all)
• Set Debug Level to 5
