Polar Bear Design driver for Crestron Home

Overview

This module allows integration of Polar Bear Design devices into a Crestron Home system. Polar Bear Design
thermostats are 2-zone devices with a simple and clear interface and a rotary dial for intuitive user control. The
thermostat is typically configured for its desired operation by the installer (e.g. heating / cooling / towel-rails) and
the configuration is then discovered by the Crestron Home platform module, simplifying integration into Crestron
Home. Polar Bear Design also provides controller devices with a variety of configurable inputs and outputs for
tasks requiring sensors and relays such as integrating with a third-party A/C system or controlling devices such as
immersion heaters.

This module supports operation of Polar Bear Design devices as a stand-alone system, without requiring
interaction any other BMS system. This is achieved in several ways (please consult Polar Bear Design for further
details).

The Polar Bear Design devices connect via Modbus and then the driver connects to the Modbus via an IP-to
RS485 gateway. Each Modbus supports up to 32 devices and the Crestron Home driver supports communicating
with any number of IP-to-RS485 gateways

Requirements

Use of this driver requires a minimum Zentium firmware of Dec 12 2022. The latest firmware can be found from the PolarBear Designs website https://www.polarbeardesign.co.uk/.
