Integrate Rako Smart HUB and Rako Bridge systems into Control4 with this manufacturer-sponsored driver suite.

SKU: JD000005 Categories: , ,

Overview

Janus Technology’s RAKO drivers for Control4 allow you to control a wired or wireless RAKO lighting system from a Control4 panel, via Ethernet.   Simply ensure your RAKO system’s Ethernet Bridge or HUB is connected to the same network as the Control4 processor and you’re ready to go.

Touch panel control of RAKO rooms, dimmers, relays and blinds not only provides the user with “armchair” control of their lighting, but also allows a Control4 macro to initiate lighting moods (for example, “Watch a Movie” can dim the lights in addition to switching on the home cinema, with a single button press).

Simulated scene status feedback allows the Control4 system to circumvent the RAKO system’s feedback limitations and keep your control panel up to date.  Events in the RAKO system (such as keypad button presses, or lighting scene changes) can be used to generate events in Control4, adding a whole new level of functionality.

With additional support for Holiday Mode and RAKO macros, as well as the need for just a single RAKO Ethernet bridge, this feature-rich driver suite is the most cost effective solution currently available for RAKO/Control4 integration.

This driver is fully compatible with the Color Wheel, which provides a simple, clean, highly intuitive user interface.

What’s New?

Version 2.0 introduces support for the new RAKO Smart HUB, which vastly improves communication and control speed compared to the Bridge, along with true level feedback from the HUB itself.
If you are running OS3.2+, the HUB driver includes Driver-Add-Driver functionality, allowing the fixtures in your Rako project to be automatically added to Control4 and configured!

Version 2.11 introduces full support for Control4’s new native coloured lighting control, for systems running OS3.3+

How does it work?

A C4 home Controller communicates with a single RAKO Ethernet bridge via the network, cleverly employing a system of simulated scene feedback to maintain synchronisation.   The following features are supported:

  • Full control of dimmable and non-dimmable lighting devices.
  • Control of motorization devices such as blinds and curtains.
  • Full control of RAKO’s in-built Holiday Mode.
  • Discreet selection of RAKO macros.
  • Simulated scene status feedback.

Reviews

There are no reviews yet.

I’ve heard that some RAKO drivers require two Ethernet bridges.  How many bridges are required for this driver?

Only one RAKO Ethernet bridge is required.

Does the price include any hardware?

Sorry, no.  The price is a licence fee only, allowing one instance of the driver to be run on a specified Control4 Home Controller.

How do you tailor the licence for my specific Home Controller?

During the checkout process you will be asked to enter the MAC address of your Home Controller, so be sure to have it to hand.

What does the ‘Brightness’ channel represent for the coloured light (RGB/RGBW) drivers?

When using RGB lighting with Rako, you have control of 3 channels; red, green and blue. In our driver, we have included a faux brightness channel to improve usability (you might want to just dim the lights without changing their colour! This is possible with the brightness slider).
This brightness channel is simply a representation of the current brightness of the RGB channels, and will change depending on the current levels of the real channels.
