Smart Home Test and Support Engineer

Are you looking for a challenging and varied role in a growing, friendly and dynamic company?  We are looking for someone to help test and support our expanding portfolio of products, specialising in apps and drivers for smart home control systems, including RTI, Control4, Crestron, AMX, URC and Elan.  This role will therefore suit someone with experience installing and programming one or more of the above systems.

In this role you will write test specifications, run manual tests and ensure our software is fit for public release.  Over time, and with the help of senior engineers, you will build up a solid knowledge of all of our products.  You will take on support issues through to resolution, setting up test systems to reproduce faults, accessing systems remotely where necessary and updating customers on progress.

Ideally you will have some higher education qualification, but this is not essential.  The following skills/experience are desirable:

  • A/V or smart home installation.
  • Writing and executing test scripts.
  • Recording issues in a bug tracking system.
  • Logging and tracking issues in a support ticketing system
  • Providing support via phone and/or email.
  • Exposure to software development lifecycles.
  • An IT or networking qualification.

Above all you will be a quick learner, with a can-do attitude, a sense of humour and a desire to make the role your own.
