Description
The Rako driver for Elan g! allows you to control a wired or wireless Rako lighting system from a g! system, via a Rako Ethernet bridge. A UDP discovery mechanism makes installation and configuration of the driver simple, with all configuration from the bridge automatically populated into the driver. Touch panel control of Rako rooms, dimmers, relays and blinds not only provides the user with “armchair” control of their lighting, but also allows an Elan macro to initiate lighting moods (for example, “Watch a Movie” can dim the lights in addition to switching on the home cinema, with a single button press). Events in the Rako system (such as keypad button presses, or lighting scene changes) can be used to generate events in g!, adding a whole new level of functionality. Additional support for Holiday Mode, and integration with Elan’s schedule control, provide excellent automation functionality as well as energy saving opportunities.
How does it work?
The Elan g! system communicates with a single Rako Ethernet bridge via the network, with two-way feedback feedback to maintain synchronisation. The following features are supported:
- Full control of dimmable and non-dimmable lighting devices.
- Control of motorization devices such as blinds and curtains.
- Full control of Rako’s in-built Holiday Mode.
- UDP device discovery mechanism.
