Product Manager – Energy Management Systems

The Role
We are seeking a proactive and strategic Product Manager to lead the development and lifecycle of our smart building management solutions & driver offerings. This role bridges the gap between technical teams, clients, and business stakeholders to ensure our solutions meet market needs and exceed customer expectations.

You will play a key role in shaping the future of our deliverables, with a strong focus on energy management, the future of AI integration, and leveraging platforms such as PolarBear, North Commander, Control4, Crestron, and other leading BMS and smart home systems.

Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Roadmap:

• Define and execute the product vision and roadmap for BMS and smart building solutions.
• Focus on energy efficiency and the integration of emerging technologies such as AI.
• Incorporate knowledge of systems like PolarBear, North Commander, Control4, Crestron, and other BMS platforms into product planning.
• Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify trends and opportunities.
• Think creatively to develop cutting-edge solutions tailored to unique client needs.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Work closely with engineering, sales, and marketing teams to deliver high-impact products.
• Translate customer needs into clear product requirements and user stories.
• Facilitate agile development processes and sprint planning.
• Encourage innovative thinking within teams to explore unconventional yet effective solutions.

Product Development & Lifecycle:

• Oversee the end-to-end product lifecycle from concept to launch and beyond.
• Prioritize features and enhancements based on customer feedback and business value.
• Ensure timely delivery of product milestones and manage release schedules.
• Leverage AI and data-driven insights to create transformative energy management solutions.

Client & Stakeholder Engagement:

• Act as the voice of the customer, gathering insights and feedback to inform product decisions.
• Support sales and client teams with product knowledge, demos, and documentation.
• Present product updates and performance metrics to stakeholders.
• Foster a culture of innovation by exploring groundbreaking solutions tailored to diverse customer challenges.
• An Eye for UI design architecture and how clients could best visualize energy data provide to them

Qualifications & Skills

Essential:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or related field.
• Proven experience in product management, ideally within BMS, IoT, or smart building sectors.
• Familiarity with BMS platforms such as PolarBear, North Commander, Control4, Crestron, and other industry-standard systems.
• Strong understanding of BMS protocols (BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks) and automation technologies.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• A strong analytical mindset with a creative approach to problem-solving.

Beneficial:

• Experience with additional smart home platforms (e.g., Niko, Lutron, RTI, QSC, AMX, ELAN, URC).
• Familiarity with agile methodologies and product management tools.
• Technical background or hands-on experience with system integration or software development.
• Passion for exploring emerging technologies and unconventional approaches in product innovation.

Location
Based at our Sawston, Cambridge office with occasional travel to client sites.

Job Types & Compensation
Permanent Full-time role, Monday to Friday
Salary: £35,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
