BMS Engineer and Installer

We are looking for proactive and skilled BMS Engineers & Installers to join our dynamic team.

The Role
As a BMS Engineer & Installer, hands-on experience with BMS systems is critical. You will be actively involved in installing, configuring, maintaining, commissioning, and troubleshooting BMS solutions for residential and commercial environments.

Key Responsibilities

Site Work & Installations:

  • Hands-on installation, configuration, and testing of BMS hardware and software.
  • Conduct onsite inspections to assess system performance and functionality.
  • Perform system upgrades and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with over engineers to ensure seamless project execution.

Technical Support & Troubleshooting:

  • Apply practical problem-solving skills to resolve BMS-related issues.
  • Support clients with real-time troubleshooting and diagnostics.
  • Work with manufacturers to optimize product performance.

System Design & Configuration:

  • Use CAD software to create system diagrams and layouts.
  • Configure and fine-tune BMS equipment based on project needs.
  • Implement real-world solutions for smart building automation.

Stock & Project Management:

  • Manage inventory and ensure availability of essential BMS materials.
  • Oversee project deliverables from installation to final commissioning.

Research & Development:

  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in BMS.
  • Work on innovative solutions to improve system efficiency.

Qualifications & Skills

Essential

  • 3 A-Levels (or equivalent) at grade C or above, preferably in IT, Engineering, or Technology.
  • Proven hands-on experience with BMS systems (academic projects, personal builds, internships, etc.).
  • Understanding of BMS protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, and LonWorks
  • Strong technical problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems, energy management, and automation controls.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and technical documentation.
  • Must hold a valid driving license with access to a vehicle.
  • Attention to detail to ensure systems operate efficiently and safely
  • Willingness to travel onsite (approx. 50% of the time).

Beneficial

  • Practical knowledge of smart home automation (Crestron Home, Control4, Niko  etc.) would be beneficial
  • Certifications in building automation or energy management

Location: Based at our Sawston, Cambridge office with onsite travel as required.
