Matthew Faupel
Matthew is Technical Director of Janus Technology and is responsible for setting the technical direction for projects undertaken by the company.
I am Technical Director and co-founder of Janus Technology. I studied Economics and Computer Science at Cambridge and also qualified for membership of the British Computer Society (MBCS) and as an associate of the Chartered Institute of Linguists (ACIL). My day-to-day focus is on the projects undertaken by the company, particularly how we tackle new technical challenges. I also oversee standards in development, training, and recruitment of staff to meet the company’s needs. There are many things I’m proud of in my job but I think overall, what pleases me most is how Janus has become a thriving business whilst surviving a financial crash and COVID, providing work that our team enjoys doing and results that the clients appreciate.
Outside of the office I enjoy reading, learning languages, solving puzzles, fostering animals and running marathons. I love travelling and the most remarkable place I have visited has to be Tikal in Guatemala, for its amazing ruins set in a sea of jungle from horizon to horizon. My family and friends would describe me as quiet, intelligent, stubborn, helpful and trustworthy. I love learning and if I ever get the time I’d love to learn is to play the guitar.
